As days get warmer and nectar and pollen become plentiful, honeybees will be naturally building out colonies to the point where they need to divide up and create new colonies in new locations. To do this, they "swarm".
If you see a swarm:
1) Stay calm. Don't spray them or disrupt them. Even though a swarm can be very loud - they are really quite docile in this state.
2) Take a picture. This will be helpful in verifying that this is, indeed, a honeybee swarm.
3) Contact us at: Info@fairfaxbees.org -- An enthusiastic beekeeper will gladly come to collect a new, healthy colony!
